How I Got Here

Pretty wasn’t the goal. Useful was.

I’ve been art-obsessed since I could hold a crayon. If I wasn’t rearranging my room or reading, you could find me always, always sketching (usually horse pictures—I am THAT horse girl). Creativity runs in my family.

But I realized later that while art was fun, applying art to logic presented a unique challenge that I craved. Why make something beautiful if it doesn’t work? So after spending some time studying marketing in college, I spent over a decade on supplement and wellness teams as the person responsible for making work, work. Driving higher traffic and CTRs, soliciting retailer praises on the way our packages “jumped off a shelf.” Making decisions on why this packaging, not that one. Just making pretty things became mundane; strategizing pretty things became energizing.

Now I bring both to every project. Every brand I build is strategic before it’s beautiful. I’m thinking about the customer’s first three seconds with your product, not just whether the logo looks great in a Figma presentation. Brief-first isn’t a tagline for me. It’s the only way I’ve ever known how to work.
